When the Purple turns Yellow

So, if any of you don't know, I play a lot of paintball. The thing is, I don't really to the whole upgrade thing for my gun. I've got a stock. That's it. Odd? Of course it is. Well, I found out last week that upgrades actually count. You see, with the 8.5 inch stock barrel that comes with the Tippmann 98 Custom, you can't do much more than point-blank. Sad, isn't it? Well, that didn't really matter for me. My gun wasn't shooting paintballs anyway! I got cheap paint, (Never do, BTW) and most of it popped before it hit the end of the barrel! That stinks, doesn't it? Yes, it does. So, maybe I'll consider getting decent paint, get a decent barrel, and get an upgraded bolt. So if you ever decide you're going to play paintball, make sure that you do NOT play with cheap paint. It will bust itself and your fun. Get Triax paint; it's good tournament grade; never broke a ball. My gun setup is as follows.

Tippmann 98 Custom (90s model, all stock parts excluding end cap)
Remote coil
20 oz Xtreme rage tank
RAP4 CAR stock

That's it. Everything is fine except for the barrel and powertube. I cleaned my gun after the war, and I'm like "Shoot, this thing looks like somebody melted gummy bears in it!" I'm getting Triax, and sticking with it. I also feel really bad, cuz I got my brother the same kind of paint, thinking that it would be good. But, his flatline didn't like the Toxin paint. Sorry, David! If you get good paint, you don't need all the milsim looks and upgrades for the gun; just a barrel and paint. I am now a believer in SOME upgrades, but not a bunch. I'm gonna get a real gun and David and I can go tear up targets and random objects.

  5. Also, getting hit on the leg after brusing it is not quite the most enjoyable of experiences. :-p
